TAMPA, Fla. – United Soccer Leagues announced the Super Y-League First 11 rankings for the 2012 season today, recognizing the league’s top clubs on a competitive and administrative basis. Taking top honors this season were the Cleveland Internationals and Ottawa Fury.
The Cleveland Internationals finished atop the overall club standing after garnering a score of 93.75. During the season the Internationals' U12, U13, U14, and U15 girls teams qualified for the 2012 USL Super Y-League North American Finals while the U12, U13, and U14 boys teams also competed in Bradenton. The U14 girls won the title, defeating Mequon United 5-3 on penalty kicks in what was the culmination of a fantastic season for the club on and off the field. The Internationals also finished first in the Girls First 11.
The Ottawa Fury finished first in the Boys First 11 with a total of 85.12 points. Ottawa also finished third in the overall standings and sent four teams to the 2012 Super Y-League North American Finals in December. In the Boys First 11 standings the Cleveland Internationals finished second with a point total of 84.06.
