OCEAN CITY, N.J. -- The Ocean City Nor’easters continued to strengthen their relationship with Italian giants Internazionale when owner Giancarlo Granese met with Inter owner and President Massimo Moratti. The pair met at an event to celebrate Internazionale and Moratti being recognized by the United Nations for their humanitarian work throughout the world via the Inter Campus Project.
The goal of the Inter Campus Project is to provide assistance to children in need with the help of youth soccer programs developed and sustained within the communities. Board member and Internazionale legend Luis Figo and Ivan Cordoba were also in attendance at the event hosted by Inter Club Fachetti NJ. Inter Club Fachetti NJ played an instrumental role in the project through large scale fundraising and donations to the cause.
Granese, fluent in Italian, conversed with Moratti and the board members discussing future plans as the clubs grow closer together. The relationship began with games between Ocean City and Inter's youth teams which later led to Ocean City Nor’easters coaches being invited to Inter’s preseason training camp in Philadelphia to learn and help with the sessions.
