ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Lancers (0-1) will begin the home portion of their 2012-13 MISL schedule when they host the Chicago Soul (1-1) this Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.

Rochester dropped its season opener at the hands of the Syracuse Silver Knights last Saturday by a 16-10 margin. The Lancers were led by forward Mauricio Salles, who registered two goals and an assist in the loss. It will mark the first time that the Lancers have faced the expansion club and is the first of four matches between the teams this season. Rochester managed a .500 record at home a season ago, posting a 6-6 record in the Flower City.

Chicago, meanwhile, dropped its last match to the Baltimore Blast in a 23-13 decision in Baltimore last Saturday. The Soul will meet the Blast again on Friday night prior to their game in Rochester as they once again visit Baltimore. The Soul began their season last Friday night by defeating the Silver Knights 13-8 at the OnCenter.

Chicago has fallen victim to the injury bug early on as defender Chris Brisson and midfielder Judson McKinney are out indefinitely while midfielder Marco Sullo is expected to miss Saturday’s game after sustaining a shoulder injury in Baltimore on Saturday. Former Lancers Will Kletzian and Carlos “Chile” Farias have returned to Chicago to play with the Soul this season while Victor High School (2005) and Roberts Wesleyan grad Sean Summerville is in his first season as a member of the Soul. Chicago’s assistant coach Novica Marojevic is somewhat familiar with Rochester having played in two matches as a midfielder with Rochester’s outdoor club, the Rhinos, in 1997.

Following the game against Chicago, the Lancers will set their sights on the Baltimore Blast in a MISL playoff rematch on Saturday, November 17th at the Blue Cross Arena.

All Rochester Lancer matches can heard live on the Lancers' flagship station, Fickle 93.3 FM, with veteran broadcaster Joe Giuliano once again calling all of the action. In addition all MISL matches can be seen live via webcast at www.MISLlive.com.
