Tampa, Fla. - Everton Florida’s U12 SYL team members Vedad Delic, Logan Stenger, and Nazar Tsaruk are preparing for the trip of a lifetime as they head to Germany this month to train with German Bundesliga outfit FC Bayern Munich. During the 11-day trip the three players will work out with various youth teams of the 2012 UEFA Champions League runner-up.
This past summer Delic, Stenger, and Tsaruk attended GFL Soccer Camps in St. Petersburg where coaches took notice of their skill, and they were invited back to an ID weekend in August. At the ID camp the Super Y-League trio impressed coaches and were among the four players selected for the trip.
Current Chicago Fire defender and one of GFL’s owners, Arne Friedrich, played for 11 years in the German Bundesliga and competed 82 times for the German National team. His ties helped provide the opportunity abroad.
All four players will attend a German school during their stay and train with the Bayern players twice dailyduring the rigorous 11-day stretch. Producing national team players such as Phillip Lahm, Toni Kroos, Sebastian Schweinsteiger and Holger Badstuber is nothing new to the FC Bayern Munich system and this trip will certainly be a learning experience for the three from southwest Florida.
"This will be trip of a lifetime for these boys and I wish I had the opportunity when I was a young boy playing soccer," Eddie Loewen of GFL Soccer Enterprises said. "This opportunity will open their horizons and will also be a special mark in their young soccer career."
