A part of that is building partnerships with local colleges and players to field a strong team but also be more involved in the community year round. We are currently playing in the highest division in the [United States] and have a lot to offer to women that want to play at a top level in the summer." Mossel continued,"I believe Sid has proven himself off and on the field as a coach and he is very committed to building a strong women's program, not only the top team but from the bottom up through all age groups.I am very confident that he will do a great job”.
Motivated for the challenge van Druenen's biggest goal is to build a successful Dutch Lions women’s program combining good soccer with positive results.
"After being assistant coach for one year in the strong [W-League] I learned a lot about the competition and the reality of this league," said van Druenen. "I am already scouting at all the local colleges, and working on bringing in some European international players, for the 2013 season. With the goal of combining their experience with the local talent and in that way have a solid base to build on for a successful 2013 and upcoming seasons”.
