CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Eagles kick off their 2011 USL PRO home campaign against Orlando City at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Charlotte Christian Stadium.
After a tough loss against Charleston to open the season, the coaching staff is positive about the upcoming game.
"Though we lost, we saw a lot of good things against Charleston," Head Coach Mark Steffens said. "The team is confident in their ability and we look forward to playing at home."
After losing its opener at Richmond, Orlando City responded this past Saturday with an impressive showing against F.C. New York, earning a 3-0 victory.
The Eagles defense will have to be on the top of its game, with Max Griffin leading Orlando's goal-scoring efforts. Griffin had two goals against F.C. New York, and was named to the USL PRO Team of the Week.
Charlotte's defense is traditionally strong, and with additions at forward the Eagles are hopeful to earn their first win of the season.
The Eagles are proud to be a part of Autism Awareness month, and will host Autism Speaks Saturday night.
The Eagles and Autism Speaks have partnered in the past to offer free Eagles soccer camps for Autistic children and look forward to doing it again in 2011.

Tickets: Purchase tickets online at www.CharlotteEagles.com for $8 (adult) and $5 (children), under 5 are free. General admission tickets can be purchased at the gate for $10 (adult) and $7 (children); under 5 are free. Ticket packages are still available online and at the games.
Campers: Don't forget to register for camp before April 16 and receive a free admission into the game as well as a free PUMA mini ball at the Premier Soccer tent.
