ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City Soccer Club announced today the return of Jean Alexandre on loan for the remainder of the season from the San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer. Alexandre has been on two short-term loans with the Lions this season, most recently for the July 6 and 8 series in Los Angeles.
A member of the Haiti National Team, Alexandre is a strong, physical player capable of playing multiple positions for the club. During his previous two stints with the club, Alexandre played in and started four matches. He scored two goals over those four games, with his first coming seven minutes into his debut on June 9 versus the Charleston Battery.
Alexandre’s arrival comes at the perfect time for Orlando City as the club is facing a very busy stretch of games. On Wednesday, the Lions clash with the Wilmington Hammerheads for the final time this season. Friday presents the chance to clinch the USL PRO Regular Season title against the Charleston Battery, and Saturday brings English Premier League side Stoke City to Orlando for the first time. Alexandre’s presence will provide Adrian Heath with more roster flexibility and assure the Lions’ forwards are not overextended heading into the playoffs.
Tickets are still available for all three matches this week, including Saturday’s friendly with English Premier League side Stoke City. For tickets and more information, call 855-ORL-CITY or visit www.orlandocitysoccer.com today!
