TAMPA, Fla. – The PDL announced today that the Carolina Dynamo had been selected as the host for the 2012 Eastern Conference Championships at Macpherson Stadium in Greensboro, N.C. They will be joined by No. 1 seed the Ocean City Nor’easters, and the Ottawa Fury and Reading United, who joined Carolina in taking victory in their divisional playoff games on Tuesday night.
Ocean City will meet the Ottawa in the first semifinal at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, with Carolina facing Reading in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. The two semifinal winners will meet on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. to determine which side will advance to the national semifinals the following weekend.
Today’s announcement completes this weekend’s Conference Championships schedule, which also sees the Michigan Bucks host the Central Conference Championship at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, Mich., the Ocala Stampede host the Southern Conference Championship at Trinity Catholic Stadium in Ocala, Fla. and the Ventura County Fusion host the Western Conference Championship at Ventura College in Ventura, Calif.
The Conference Champions determined this weekend will meet in the national semifinals on the weekend of July 27-29 at two host locations to be determined. The PDL Championship will be played on Saturday, August 4 at the home of one of the semifinal winners.
