Brass Take Victory Against Lions

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Kansas City Brass turned a two-goal halftime lead into a 5-1 victory against the St. Louis Lions on Tuesday night at the Overland Park Soccer Complex. The victory moved Kansas City (4-6-1, 13 points) past St. Louis (3-9-2, 11 points) and into fifth place in the Heartland Division of the Premier Development League.

The Brass led, 2-0, at halftime on goals by Jordan Green, in the 16th minute and Zach Balthazar two minutes later.

Balthazar added to the Kansas City lead just three minutes into the second half with his second goal of the game. Green assisted the final two goals, scored by Kyle Greig in the 54th minute and Matt McDevitt in the 70th minute.

Substitute Bryce Childers put St. Louis on the board with a goal in the 87th minute.

The Brass remain at home for games Friday and Saturday against the Real Colorado Foxes. Both games begin at 7 p.m. at the Overland Park Soccer Complex.

All Brass home games are at the Overland Park Soccer Complex on Field 1. There is no admission charge and parking is free at the complex.
