ST. JOHN’S, Antigua -- Antigua Barracuda FC is pleased to announce seven new signings for its inaugural USL PRO season.
Forward Stefan Smith, attacking midfielders Tamarly ‘Ziggy’ Thomas, Kimoi Alexander and Quinton Griffith, defenders Dave ‘Littleman’ Carr and Roy Gregory as well as Goalkeeper Molvin James all agreed professional terms with the Antigua-based outfit.
“This is an unequivocal demonstration that we are serious and committed to exposing to the world the best football talent Antigua and Barbuda has to offer. Our mission is clear and these players, having worked hard for this opportunity, have earned that right to showcase their considerable skills on such a stage”, said Gordon ‘Banks’ Derrick, Chairman of the Antigua Barracudas.
Director of Football Fernando Abraham added, “These players are quality, home-grown talents eager to get started as professional footballers, as long as they remain focused they will do us all proud. We have confidence in their abilities and wish them well”.
The Antigua Barracuda FC roster now has 14 confirmed players for its first USL PRO season with final signings anticipated to be completed by the close of this week.
Opening game night, at the rehabilitated Sticky Wicket Grounds, is expected to be a grand affair with a perfect blend of entertainment and football with Antigua Barracuda FC engaging visitors the Los Angeles Blues on Sunday 17th April at 7 p.m. Gates open for general admission at 4 p.m.
