WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wilmington Hammerheads have officially announced that Corey Hertzog, who has been on loan from the New York Red Bulls, will remain with the team through the remainder of the USL PRO season. Hertzog was originally on loan to the Hammerheads until the end of June.
“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Hertzog. “It’s an opportunity to play more games and score more goals.”
Hertzog’s debut appearance with the Hammerheads was in Richmond on May 26 at City Stadium. Since then, the forward has appeared in all six Hammerheads matches to date, scoring four goals and adding two assists.
Hertzog trails fellow Hammerheads forward Andriy Budnyy, who is the club's leading scorer with six goals this season.
