FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Fuego will return home to Chukchansi Park for a match against the Ventura County Fusion on Thursday night at 7 p.m. PT. The first 1,000 fans to the Fuego game will receive a 2012 Team Poster and Season Program, courtesy of Xfinity. Admission to the game is free as fans can print game tickets from the Fuego’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/FresnoFuego) or pick them up at Univision Radio on Palm and Herndon in Fresno.
The Fuego are coming off a road trip to Utah where they tied both Ogden (0-0) and BYU (1-1). Fresno has 12 points this season (3-1-3), tied with Orange County Blue Star for the most in the Southwest Division of the PDL’s Western Conference, but Fresno has played one more game than the Blue Star. The Fuego are 0-1-2 in their last three PDL matches after going undefeated in their previous 28 regular season games.
Ventura County, meanwhile, holds a 3-1-1 record, which places them third with 10 points in the division. Ventura County won their last contest, a 4-1 decision, over the So Cal Seahorses, and could jump the Fuego with victory on Thursday night.
Following their contest with the Fusion, the Fuego will travel to Arizona to play their second game of the week on Saturday against FC Tucson, who currently sit fourth in the Southwest Division with a record of 3-1-0. Kickoff at the Kino Sports Complex is set for 7 p.m. PT.
