On May 2, TopDrawerSoccer.com released its ‘Players to Watch National Top 150 Rankings’ for the 2015 Boys graduating class, to go along with the site’s rankings for the 2013 and 2014 classes. Super Y-League standouts Wesley Wade (NJ Rangers FC), Thomas Redding, (Brandon FC Flames), and Shaquell Moore (SSA/Cobb FC) are Nos. 1, 2 and 4, respectively, on the 2015 list. In all, 44 boys who have played for Super Y-League or Super-20 League clubs were named in the three rankings. Additionally, 11 of the players have participated with the U.S. National Team program.
No. 1 Wesley Wade - Forward
Wade (pictured) played for the NJ Rangers FC U13 squad in 2010, registering 11 goals and nine assists for the Mid Atlantic Division side. He also led the team with five goals in five games during the 2010 Super Y-League North American Finals, and was named to the 2010 U13 Boys All-Tournament Team. Wade, only 15 years of age, is currently on the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team Spring Residency roster in preparation for this summer’s 2013 U17 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament. He scored the only goal in the U17s’ 1-0 win against Mexico as the U.S. finished fifth at the 40th Mondial Minimes in Montaigu, France last month.
No. 2 Thomas Redding - Defender
Following Wade on the list, Redding helped the Brandon FC Flames win the 2011 U14 Super Y-League Championship. He was named to the U14 Boys All-Tournament Team, as his team only conceded two goals in the five games of the tournament. Redding, also only 15, is currently on the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team Spring Residency roster in preparation for this summer’s 2013 U17 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament.
No. 4 Shaquell Moore – Midfielder
Moore is the second-highest ranking midfielder on the 2015 rankings. With the Cobb FC U14 team in 2011, Moore scored one goal and added two assists during the Super Y-League season. Moore, 15, is also currently on the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team Spring Residency roster in preparation for this summer’s 2013 U17 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament.
No. 18 Malcolm Dixon – Forward
Dixon partnered Wesley Wade with the NJ Rangers during the U13 team’s 2010 Super Y-League season, scoring 16 goals and adding four assists. He also scored two goals and had two assists during the 2010 Super Y-League North American Finals, leading to his selection to the 2010 U13 Boys All-Tournament Team. Dixon has played with the U.S. U17 Boys’ National Team, as recently as the March 2012 training camp.
No. 26 Collin Fernandez - Forward
Fernandez played with the Chicago Fire U13 team in 2010, finishing behind the Midwest Division and 2010 Super Y-League North American Finals champions the Chicago Magic. He tallied two goals and one assist during the 2010 season. Fernandez was also named to the U.S. U15 Boys’ National Team.
No. 34 Maduabuchi Obinwa – Midfielder
Obinwa helped lead the 2011 Brandon FC Flames to the U14 Super Y-League North American Finals, which they won. He was also named to the U.S. U15 Boys’ National Team.
No. 46 Ruben Sanchez – Midfielder
Sanchez played with the Chicago Magic squad that won the 2010 U13 Super Y-League North American Finals championship, scoring in the championship game. He was also named to the 2010 All-Tournament Team and was a 2011 96/97 ODP selection.
No. 47 Jean Orvil – Forward
Orvil scored one goal and had five assists during the 2011 Super Y-League season for West Pines United, and the Southeast Division Champions lost in the 2011 U14 Super Y-League North American Semifinals to division rival Brandon FC. He was named to the U.S. U15 Boys’ National Team as a defender.
No. 65 Conor Smith – Midfielder
Smith led Ironbound SC to a 7-4-1 Mid Atlantic Division record in 2011.
No. 82 Renato Albuquerque – Forward
Albuquerque scored a breakaway goal in the 2010 U13 Super Y-League North American Semifinals and played a pivotal role for the Chicago Magic as they won the championship against NJ Rangers FC.
No. 87 Justin Stinson – Midfielder
Stinson had three assists during the 2011 Super Y-League season for the St. Louis Lions Elite Academy U14 team.
No. 96 Eremuse Momoh – Defender
Momoh helped the Real Maryland F.C. U15 team to an 8-1-3 record in 2011, sixth overall in the 15-team Mid Atlantic Division. He assisted on one goal during the season.
No. 103 Adrian Roman – Forward
A forward for the Chicago Magic U13 team in 2010, Roman netted a goal in the championship game of the Super Y-League North American Finals against NJ Rangers FC. He was also named to the 2010 All-Tournament Team with teammate Ruben Sanchez and was a 96/97 ODP selection in 2011.
No. 117 Jorge Torrescano – Midfielder
Another ex-Chicago Fire player on the Top 150 list, Torrescano was also a part of the 2010 U13 Super Y-League North American Finals championship team. Scoring two goals during the season and one goal in the 2010 semifinal game, Torrescano was a key to the Fire’s triumphant season. He was also a 2011 96/97 ODP selection.
No. 119 Brendan McDonough – Forward
McDonough had two goals and two assists for the St. Louis Lions Elite Academy U14 team during the 2011 Super Y-League season.
No. 124 Aidan Wixted – Defender
Wixted was on the 2011 U14 Super Y-League North American Finals Champion Brandon FC Flames, scoring one goal during the Finals. His Southeast Division team surrendered only two goals in five games during the tournament.
No. 133 Andrew Samuels – Midfielder
Samuels was a part of the Brandon Flames FC team that won the 2011 U14 Super Y-League North American Finals Championship and is currently registered with the now-VSI West Florida Flames for the upcoming 2012 Super Y-League season. He was named to the 97/98 Boys Super Y-League ODP Select A Team earlier this year.
No. 137 Ethan Lochner – Forward
Despite his U13 New York Magic’s 10th-place finish in the Mid Atlantic Division during the 2009 Super Y-League season, Lochner was a standout and received multiple ODP nominations during the season.
No. 138 Joseph Jones – Forward
Jones had two assists for his Chicago Magic in the 2010 U13 Super Y-League North American Semifinals as they went on to win the championship.
No. 140 Christopher Flores – Forward
Flores led the Brooklyn Knights to the 2011 U13 Super Y-League North American Finals with 12 goals and six assists during the 2011 season.
No. 24 Declan McCabe – Midfielder
McCabe and the U14 MPS Bulldogs won the New England Division during the 2009 Super Y-League season, but lost in the championship game of the North American Finals. McCabe was named to the Region I ODP pool that year and also participated in the U.S. U14 National Development Program. McCabe played for the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team in the Val-de-Marne Tournament in France in late 2011.
No. 49 Joseph Swenson – Midfielder
Swenson was a part of the U14 Long Island Rough Riders that progressed to the 2010 Super Y-League North American Finals. He also participated in the U15/16 Development Academy Select Game at the 2011 Winter Showcase with U.S. Soccer, in which he assisted on a goal.
No. 64 Walker Dawkins – Midfielder
Dawkins, with U14 West Pines United, recorded one goal and added two assists during the 2010 Super Y-League season. West Pines United topped the Southeast Division that year.
No. 84 Ronald Ventura – Defender
Ventura played for Real Maryland FC’s U15 team, which finished the 2011 Super Y-League season 8-1-3 in the tough Mid Atlantic Division.
No. 114 Christopher Nash – Midfielder
Nash recorded one goal during the 2009 Super Y-League season for U14 Match Fit Chelsea.
No. 118 Nickolas Bedalamenti – Midfielder
Bedalamenti played for Waza FC of the U15 Midwest Division for the 2011 Super Y-League season as the team finished in fourth place.
No. 124 Jonathan Uy - Midfielder
Uy tallied a goal and an assist during the 2009 Super Y-League season for the U13 Brooklyn Knights, who finished 7-6-0.
No. 129 Karl Brown - Defender
Brown played for the 2009 U14 Real Maryland F.C. team, scoring four goals during the season.
No. 141 Mario Da Silva - Forward
Da Silva scored two goals and added two assists during the 2009 Super Y-League season for U14 Sunrise FC. His team finished second in the Southeast Division with an 8-2-2 record behind Schulz Academy, the 2009 U14 Super Y-League North American Finals champions.
No. 144 Austin Sandel – Defender
Sandel helped U14 West Pines United win the Southeast Division during the 2010 Super Y-League season.
No. 16 Alex Muyl – Forward
Muyl is a former TSF Academy player and was a 2011 94/95 ODP selection.
No. 33 Colton Storm – Midfielder
Storm led Reading United AC to an 8-1-1 record during the 2011 Super-20 League season. Storm spent time with the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team. He is currently committed to the University of North Carolina.
No. 47 Romilio Hernandez – Midfielder
Hernandez played for the Real Maryland U14 team in 2009, recording one assist during the season for the Mid Atlantic Division side. He is currently committed to the University of Louisville.
No. 48 Miguel Alves – Midfielder
Alves was a member of Ironbound SC during the 2009 and 2010 Super Y-League seasons, with the U13 and U14 teams, respectively. He recorded two assists during the 2009 season and one goal and one assist in 2010. Ironbound lost 5-4 in the 2009 U13 Super Y-League North American Finals championship game.
No. 54 Andrew Brody – Midfielder
Brody played for Super Y-League teams for four years, with HC United U13 in 2008, Florida Soccer Alliance U14 in 2009, Tampa Bay United U16 in 2010, and Tampa Bay United U17 in 2011. He is currently committed to the University of Louisville.
No. 74 Diego Aguirre – Defender
Aguirre played for West Pines United U14 in 2009 and West Pines United U15 in 2010, and recorded two goals in his second year.
No. 80 Ismael Longo – Midfielder
Longo was selected to the 2008-09 Super Y-League ODP National Camp and was with the West Pines United U16 team in 2009. He was also part of the U.S. U14 Boys National Team in 2008.
No. 81 Matthew Cooper – Defender
Cooper played with Seacoast United U14 in 2009 and the U15 team in 2010.
No. 89 Ethan Spivack – Forward
Spivack had two goals for Kendall SC U14 in 2009 and also played for Kendall SC U15 in 2010,
No. 90 Michael Bajza – Midfielder
Bajza recorded two goals and two assists during the 2009 Super Y-League season for Sunrise SC U14 and played for Sunrise SC U15 in 2010. He was also a 2011 94/95 ODP Selection. Bajza is currently committed to NC State.
No. 97 Jesse Caron – Forward
Caron played for HC United U13 in 2008, as the Southeast Division team finished the season 9-1-1.
No. 108 Kyle Richards – Defender
Richards played for Alpharetta Ambush U14 in 2009, scoring four goals and adding three assists, and moved up to the U15 team in 2010. He is currently committed to the University of West Virginia.
No. 120 Brian Costa – Midfielder
Costa played for PDA U13 in 2008 and PDA U17 in 2009.
No. 143 Nicholas Pappacena – Forward
Pappacena was a part of the 2009 U14 Super Y-League North American Finals champion Schulz Academy. He scored two goals during the season as Schulz finished the year with a combined 15-1-0 record.
