CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Charleston Battery will host a special ‘Kick for a Cure Night’ at Blackbaud Stadium on April 30 during the match versus the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The event will benefit Dragon Boat Charleston and the Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The Charleston Battery players will be wearing special custom pink Umbro jerseys during the match that will be auctioned off immediately after the game with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the charities. 
In addition to raising money and awareness for these two charities during the match against Pittsburgh, the Charleston Battery players will show their support by entering a boat as a team in Dragon Boat Charleston on May 14.
“We always knew the Charleston Battery had a dragon in their hearts! What a fun night of soccer and cancer survivorship support," Sterling Hannah Director of Dragon Boat Charleston said. "Thank you Charleston Battery!”

"Our commitment to the community to help end breast cancer will continue with the ongoing support of impressive organizations such as the Charleston Battery and its supporters.”
Blackbaud Stadium will feature a variety of fun Pink additions and decorations during this special match including complimentary pink t-shirts to the first 1000 fans through the turnstiles & donating 20% of Pink Specials (Pink lemonade, Pink Cotton Candy, Pink Cosmos, and Strawberry Daiquiris) sold in the concession stands and Three Lions Club.
There will also be special Pink Charleston Battery merchandise available for purchase with a further 20% of sales going to the charities.
