ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Lions are excited to announce a partnership with the STL United Soccer Show that airs weekly on Fans 590 KFNS. The Lions will sponsor segments of the show and bring listeners the program's weekly scoreboard report. Also included in the partnership are opportunities for weekly updates on the St. Louis Lions' season and exclusive interviews with the coaches and players.
“We are very excited about this partnership, it is a natural fit. We all love the soccer and all we want to do is talk about it. This is the perfect partnership,” said Jim Shipley, General Manager of the St. Louis Lions. “We are all working together to promote the game and at the same time this is an outlet to help us promote the St Louis Lions organization and our players.”
The STL United Soccer show is hosted by Tom Schwarz each and every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Schwartz is joined by his on-air team of Michael Michler, Vin Ko, Asim Thakore and legendary CBC soccer coach Terry Michler and weekly guests.
“Tom has done a great job with the show and has brought soccer to the airwaves. His guest list has been phenomenal and has brought the game closer to the fans,” said Shipley
Previous guests on the STL United Soccer show have been former professional player and current ESPN announcer Taylor Twellman, CEO of U.S. Soccer Dan Flynn, Bolton Wanderers defender Tim Ream, the New York Times' George Vecsey, U.S. Soccer legend Harry Keough, U.S. Women's National Team member Becky Sauerbrunn and Lions coach Tony Glavin.
The STL United Soccer Show airs on Fans 590 KFNS, which is owned and operated by Grand Slam Sports which also operates Sports Radio 1380 AM.
