OCEAN CITY, N.J. -- The Ocean City Nor’easters are pleased to announce the addition of three standout players from Lafayette College who will be joining the club for the summer. The Lafayette Leopards stars joining the Nor’easters are defender Julian Plummer and midfielders Alec Golini and Blake Fink, pictured.

Plummer had an outstanding freshman year for the Leopards, picking up a Second Team All-Patriot League selection, the only freshman to do so, while also being named to the Puma Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team, the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and twice being selected as Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

“Julian is a freak of an athlete....pace, size, speed...you name it," Nor'easters coach Tim Oswald said. "Going into the Patriot League as a freshman and having the success that he had on the field for the Leopards can be quite the imposing challenge, but he took it in stride and excelled.”

Golini was an NSCAA High School All-American in 2009 and moved into college with ease, earning a spot on the Patriot League's Academic Honor Roll.

“Alec is fast, crafty, and creative in the midfield and attacking third," Oswald said. "We believe that after missing his first season at Lafayette due to injury, he is finally coming into his own.”

Fink was consistently showered with awards and team selections in the fall, and they are justified by his play on the field. Fink was named to the 2011 NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Team, as a 2011 Capital One Academic All-District, to the 2011 Academic All-Patriot League Team.

“I have coached and worked with Blake for years," Oswald said. "He is a very solid and sound player on and off the ball. He will add necessary depth to our team in the midfield position, but also can be featured on other areas of the pitch. He comes from a high school program that breeds success and a college program that is impeccable with its tactical approaches to the game with an emphasis on a worker mentality.”

This crop of talent is a great addition to the Nor’easters roster for the upcoming season. Future player announcements are on the way, visit www.OceanCityFC.com, LIKE us on www.facebook.com/oceancityfc or FOLLOW us on www.twitter.com/oceancityfc for all the latest news.
