RICHMOND, Va. – In support of the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams and their historic trip to the NCAA Final Four, the Richmond Kickers are changing the kickoff time of their 2011 USL PRO home opener. This Saturday, April 2, the Kickers pro game against Orlando City will now be played at 4 p.m., resulting from the scheduled tip off time between the VCU Rams and the Butler Bulldogs at 6:09 p.m. (EST). Fans wearing black and gold can purchase tickets for just $4 at the gate and Papa John’s will continue to celebrate the Rams’ success by offering pizzas at the stadium for $4.
“The Kickers are proud to be supported by the great sports fans of Richmond and have made this decision with exactly those same sports fans in mind,” said Shelley Sowers, Richmond Kickers General Manager. “With the change in time, fans will now be able to watch the Kickers home opener in its entirety and can still catch the tip off of the Final Four. Virginia Commonwealth University has given truth to the phrase March Madness and the Richmond Kickers wish all VCU players and coaches good luck as they fight to bring a national championship to Richmond. Go Rams!”
