SILVER SPRING, Md. - Real Maryland FC is proud to announce the club’s 2012 PDL Team, pending USL and USSF approval. The Monarchs open the 2012 PDL campaign at home on Sunday, June 3 with kickoff slated for 2 p.m. at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md. against the Palmetto FC Bantams.
Three key players from the 2011 PDL season return to the club for the upcoming season in Val Teixeira, Aboucarim Ndaw and Josh Danza. After joining the club late last season, Teixeira had a goal and three assists last year, while Ndaw finished third on the team with eight points (three goals, two assists) and Danza made 12 appearances in defense last season.
In addition to the club’s returning players, and in an effort to strenghen the club’s ties to the community strengthen, Real Maryland FC has brought aboard players for the 2012 Campaign from the area’s High Schools, Community Colleges, Colleges and Universities.
Currently leading the way for the Monarchs are players from the Boys Varsity Soccer Programs at Watkins Mill High School, Sidwell Friends, Clarksburg High School, Largo High School, Loyola Blakefield, Clarksburg High School, Archbishop Spalding, Bishop O’Connell, Urbana High School, Century High School, Hammond High School, Northwood High School, Blake High School and Springbrook High School.
In addition to the local high school boys varsity soccer programs, Real Maryland FC is being represented on the stadium floor by members of the Men’s Varsity Soccer Programs from the following Colleges and Universities - Howard Community College, Towson University, George Mason University and Loyola Marymount University.

Going into the organization’s fifth season in the United Soccer Leagues, this will be the Monarch’s second season in the PDL after having played in the USL Second Division from 2008-2010. In 2012, the South Atlantic Division expanded to nine clubs with the addition of the Nashville Metros (TN), Palmetto Bantoms (SC) and the Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors to the already existing clubs in the division - Carolina Dynamo, Northern Virginia Royals, Real Maryland FC, West Virginia Chaos, Virginia Beach Piranhas and the Fredericksburg Hotspur.
Real Maryland FC is a proud member of the United Soccer Leagues where it participates in the Premier Development League and the Super Y-League.
