OTTAWA, Ont. - The Ottawa Fury is pleased to announce that the 2011 W-League MVP and leading scorer Mallory Outerbridge will return for the 2012 season. Outerbridge was a crucial part of the undefeated 2011 season and helped the Fury be named regular season champions.
Outerbridge was dominant in 2011, earning the league scoring title and becoming the highest single-season scorer in Fury history (topping Kelly Parker's mark of 18 goals in 2004). Outerbridge has always been a team player and attributes her success to the team behind her. Even when named MVP, she shared the accomplishment with the team, saying it was a "team effort, a team trophy."
Coach Dom Oliveri is ecstatic to have this amazing talent back on the team.
"We are extremely pleased to announce that Mallory will be returning to our club for the 2012 season," Oliveri said. "Mallory is well known to our program and was a major contributor to our success last season".
