COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Central SC Cobras are excited to announce the signing of former Boston University standout Christina Reuter.

“I am very excited with the addition of Christina to our Cobra roster,” said Cobras‘ Head Coach Sandy Burris. “She is a proven winner at the collegiate and international level. To have someone with her leadership and ability in net is invaluable to the program. We are absolutely thrilled that she will be calling Columbia home this summer.”

Reuter, the 2007 America East Goalkeeper of the Year, was a two-year starter and a four-time letterwinner for the Terriers who made three consecutive NCAA Division I Championship Tournament appearances (2005-2007). Boston University won the America East conference championship in 2005 and 2007 with Reuter as the starter in goal after a shoulder injury erased all but three matches of her junior season. She recorded 13 career shutouts while at Boston University.

The Maplewood, New Jersey resident played on Terrier squads which compiled an overall mark of 51-22-12 while notching an impressive 24-5-4 record in American East play. She is currently tied for third in career saves (147) and ranks fourth in career goals against average (0.77) in the Terrier record book. Her 0.60 goals against average in 2005 is the fourth lowest mark in Boston University history. Her 14 saves against Stony Brook in 2007 ties the second highest single match total in school history.

Reuter earned First-Team All-Conference honors as a senior by recording five shutouts in 15 matches with a 0.66 goals against average. She allowed two goals in a game to Stanford in the season opener and to Wake Forest in the NCAA Tournament while holding the opponents to a goal or less in the other 13 matches.

As a sophomore, Reuter highlighted a personal 8-2-3 record in goal by posting five shutouts - including a 1-0 overtime over Connecticut in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. She never allowed more the one goal in any of her 14 appearances.

Reuter earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in business administration from Boston University in 2008 and then helped F.C. Slovacko in the Czech Republic to a second place finish in the nation’s top women’s professional league.

Since then, the Madison, Wisconsin native has remained actively involved in soccer. Reuter currently serves as an assistant soccer coach at Seton Hall University and coaches youth with World Class F.C. (Orangeburg, NY). The Cobras will take advantage of Reuter’s positional expertise by utilizing her as their goalkeeper coach for the team as well as the Cobra camps during the summer.
