WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wilmington Hammerheads’ are excited to announce another 2012 roster addition as they approach the opening of their preseason camp. Rejoining the club for this season is midfielder, Manny Guzman, as the Hammerheads return another key cog from last season’s roster, pending USSF approval.
A highly coveted player, Guzman chose to rejoin the Hammerheads after being pursued by a number of clubs during the offseason. After considering his options, he will call Wilmington home for the 2012 USL season.
Emanuel “Manny” Guzman made his debut with the Wilmington Hammerheads last year after he signed his first professional contract with the team in March 2011. During the 2011 Hammerhead season, Guzman played in 21 games; scoring three goals and contributing one assist overall to the club’s second-place finish during the USL PRO regular season.
Guzman grew up in Lakewood, Calif. Before joining the Hammerheads, Guzman played with USL Premier Development League clubs the Bakersfield Brigade from 2007-2008, and the Ventura County Fusion from 2009-2010. While Guzman was with the Fusion they won the 2009 USL PDL national championship.
