TAMPA, Fla. – The Major Indoor Soccer League today announced the provisional schedule for the MISL Eastern Division Finals, which will see the Baltimore Blast face either the Rochester Lancers or Syracuse Silver Knights for a place in the MISL Championship Series.
The Blast will host the opening game of the series on Saturday, March 10 at 7:35 p.m. ET at 1st Mariner Arena, with either the Lancers or Silver Knights hosting Game 2 on Monday, March 12. Should the Lancers reach the playoffs, Game 2 would be scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET at the Blue Cross Arena. Should the Silver Knights advance, Game 2 would be scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at the Oncenter War Memorial. If the series is even at 1-1 after the two games, a 15-minute mini-game will be played at the conclusion of Game 2 in either Rochester or Syracuse.
The Lancers currently hold a half-game lead on the Silver Knights for the final playoff place in the Eastern Division, and hold the tiebreaker should the teams finish the season with identical records after winning the season series 4-2.
The Central Division Finals schedule was revealed on Monday, with the Missouri Comets hosting the Milwaukee Wave in Game 1 on Friday, March 9 at 7:35 p.m. CT at the Independence Events Center. The Wave will then host Game 2 on Sunday, March 11 at 3 p.m. CT at U.S. Cellular Arena.
The MISL saw another big weekend at the box office this past week, with the Baltimore Blast recording the highest attendance of the season so far when they hosted the Milwaukee Wave on Saturday night. A crowd of 9,644 packed into 1st Mariner Arena to see the Blast keep their hopes of taking home-field advantage throughout the playoffs alive with victory against Milwaukee. The Wichita Wings also concluded their season with another sellout at Hartman Arena, helping push the league’s total attendance close to the 300,000 mark with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
This week sees a seven-game slate, all of which can be seen on MISL Live (www.misllivesoccer.com), the league’s free online video service. Highlighted by the Milwaukee Wave’s trip for a pair of games against the Missouri Comets at the Independence Events Center, the Wichita Wings could play a key role in determining which side advances to the Eastern Division Finals as they travel to face the Rochester Lancers on Thursday night and Sunday afternoon, with a trip to meet the Syracuse Silver Knights also on the slate for Saturday night.
