TUKWILA, Wash. - The Seattle Sounders Women today reveal their new logo representing the club’s affiliation with Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer.
The circular crest features the familiar Seattle Sounders FC brand circled in Rave Green and sporting “W-League” at the head and “Sounders Women” at the base. It is now displayed on the club’s social media sites at www.Facebook.com/SoundersWomen and www.Twitter.com/SoundersWomen.
Sounders Women General Manager Amy Carnell says the choice to work more closely with the MLS Sounders was an easy one to make. “Although our ownership group is separate, partnering with one of the most recognizable MLS teams in history is a no-brainer. Sounders FC continue to be supportive of the Women’s game and its growth.
“Our new logo represents a strong partnership and a new era for Women’s Soccer in Seattle.”
The Sounders Women were purchased in November 2011 by Lane Smith and Cliff McElroy. The pair also own the Sounders U23s of the PDL. The W-League season begins in May.
