JACKSON, Miss. -- The 2012 USL PRO Combine presented by Umbro is set for January 26-29, 2012 at the internationally recognized IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla. The event, which is in its sixth year, will once again feature players from Mississippi Brilla FC. Over the last few seasons, Brilla has been well represented at the combine leading to several players signing professional contracts. In the short five-year history of the club, Mississippi Brilla has sent six players on to the next level.
“It is a great opportunity for the players to showcase themselves in front of all the teams in USL PRO, along with international scouts and agents. It is a great tool for the players in the PDL, and we are looking forward to our players showcasing themselves this upcoming weekend,” said Dave Dixon, Head Coach of MS Brilla FC.
There will be four players representing Brilla at the upcoming event. Representing the 2011 team will be Mike Azira (Kampala, Uganda), Nick Rich (Kent, England), and Bryce Taylor (Broken Arrow, OK). Alec Kann (Decatur, GA), who played in the 2010 season, will also be participating this weekend. These four players will have the opportunity to impress well over 40 club representatives during their time in Bradenton.
“All of these guys have the quality to make it to the next level, it is a matter of getting the opportunity to display their abilities for the coaches. It is up to the guys now to go in and make an impression on the coaches. I feel confident that they will perform well in the games,” said Todd Eason, Associate Head Coach of MS Brilla FC.
The coaching staff will also be in Bradenton scouting potential players as they continue to build their roster for the 2012 season. Stay tuned to our website for some upcoming player announcements, along with schedule and ticket information for the 2012 season.
