DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are proud to announce the signing of Marvin van der Pluijm for the 2011 USL PRO season.
Van der Pluijm signed a three-year contract with the Dutch Lions. The Dutch native previously played for Sparta Rotterdam, FC Den Bosch and Nac Breda in Holland’s Eredivisie.
“We are very excited to have Marvin joining the Dayton Dutch Lions FC,” said Technical Director Cor van Hoeven. “He is a young and talented player that has played at the highest level of Dutch competition. Marvin is a quick attacking player that is constantly on the move. He will be of great value to the 2011 roster.”
Van der Pluijm, who is 22 years old, is a young and ambitious player that loves the game. Entering the 2011 season with high expectations, Marvin is a hard-working individual with the talent to make an immediate impact.
“I signed with the Dayton Dutch Lions FC because it is a club with great ambition and I very much would like to be a part of making this club successful,” van der Pluijm said. “A big plus for me is coming to the United Sates; I am excited have the opportunity to come and play.”
