TAMPA, Fla. – United Soccer Leagues will send another large staff contingent to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Annual Convention January 11-15 in Kansas City. Few soccer events in the United States can match the excitement and learning opportunities the NSCAA Convention offers to coaches and administrators at all levels of the game. Billed as "The World’s Largest Annual Gathering of Soccer Coaches," each year the NSCAA Convention draws approximately 4,000 coaches and more than 9,000 attendees over five days.
USL staff will travel to Kansas City representing each of its leagues and properties including USL PRO, the MISL, the PDL, the W-League, the Super-20 League, the Super Y-League and Major Beach Soccer. USL President Tim Holt will conduct an open informational seminar for attendees at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 13.
USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor, a longtime staff coach for the U.S. Soccer Federation, will conduct an hour-long training session for coaches in attendance at the convention at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 12 titled "Player Movement off the Ball for 14/15-year-old Competitive Players."
Throughout the event, USL will occupy booth 802 - one of the larger 20’ x 20’ spaces in the NSCAA Exhibit Hall on the floor of the Kansas City Convention Center - while its staff meets with prospective partners and current league members.
“USL is looking forward to once again being an active participant at the NSCAA Convention, which is one of the most important events of the year for our organization,” USL CEO Alec Papadakis said. “The convention offers a great opportunity to strengthen many of our existing relationships, which allows us to continue to provide all USL teams with the level of service they deserve.”
The Exhibit Hall at the NSCAA Convention is the nation’s largest soccer-specific trade show. With approximately 300 companies on hand, attendees can examine the latest soccer-related technology and equipment. Major League Soccer’s SuperDraft will be held in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention once again, creating a unique and exciting atmosphere as players take their game to a new level and MLS teams chart their future course.
