ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Rhinos have agreed to terms with front runner Conor Chinn for the 2012 USL PRO season pending league approval. Chinn will bring experience from Major League Soccer to Rochester next season.
“I am expecting a breakout season from Conor.” Rhinos Head Coach Jesse Myers said. “He has the potential to score goals in this league on a consistent basis. His strength and pace are an asset. I feel that it’s time for Conor to realize his potential and become a productive member of our team.”
Chinn began his professional career with the New York Red Bulls after he was drafted in the third round (34th overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. Chinn appeared in nine matches for the Red Bull in the MLS regular season and US Open Cup play. He scored his first two professional goals against the Philadelphia Union in a U.S. Open Cup Qualifier. He went on to score three goals in four U.S. Open Cup matches for the Red Bulls in 2010. Chinn also scored one of the Red Bulls three goals in their 3-1 victory over Italian giants Juventus. Chinn was picked up by Real Salt Lake but never appeared in a match with the team.
Chinn played collegiately with the University of San Francisco. He played appeared in seventy-eight matches and scored thirty-seven goals with twelve assists. He was named First Team All-WCC twice and the West Coast Conference Player of the Year in 2008.
